I am a burn survivor my name is Lisa Soto, when I was 18 months old I was burned 67 1/2% of my body. The accident happen March 22nd 1982. My parents worked night shift and the baby sitter was asleep on the couch my brother helped me climb out of the crib he was 3 yrs old at the time. He pushed a highchair up against the counter to get us cereal and bowls down. I followed him and climbed up on counter and crawled over to the stove top at the time it was an old gas push button stove. I had footie pj’s on and I sat on the burner and pushed the button it caught pajamas on fire. The baby sitter woke up and had me in the sink pouring pots of water on me my mom woke up and wrapped me in a blanket put me in back of car and went to brandywine hospital from there they transported me by helicopter to crozier chest medical. I am very lucky to be here today but over top of that I’m now 37yrs old and engaged to my beautiful fiance. Fist pic is me in the hospital in 1982 and second pic is of me now!
