The Rev. Robert E. “Bobby” Streater, III
Life does not come to a standstill with burn injury. Bobby advocates building bonds for a greater tomorrow through faith, and by fostering collaborations to create a team for support and compassion in the quest for total healing.
Bobby told us about the turning point in his life, the moment when he became determined never to quit. He put his faith in God and in the process of learning to walk again at the age of eight after he severely burned his legs and was told that he wouldn’t be able to walk again by his doctors. But with the aid of nurses, surgeons, and academic tutors, and a lot of hope, resilience and determination he began to exercise his faith, he found himself gravitating toward positive things and people. He started thinking that he was really capable of following his dream despite the physical and emotional challenges he experienced. Robert was able to walk and run again, he even won a scholarship as a long distance.
Bobby issues this challenge: “Let today be the day you give up who you’ve been for who you can become.”
