Terry suffered life-changing injuries when he was set alight by his uncle in Devon. He survived, his uncle died in the fire, and Terry would spend the next 3 weeks in a coma clinging on for life. Indeed, he was read his last ‘rites’ twice, and whilst he was in a coma, tragically his baby daughter Atlanta died.
Terry’s road to recovery was long, not only did he become addicted to prescription drugs he wanted to give up many times, contemplating suicide on many of his darkest days. After a long battle with depression, Terry began to recover and now he wants to help other people to get onto the road to recovery.
Terry has set up a charity, The Terry Dunnage Foundation which helps people with life changing injuries and disfigurements by raising awareness and ultimately bringing about social acceptance.
