Location: USA

Date Of Injury: 10 years old

When I was only 10-years-old, the neighborhood bully talked me into coming into my garage with him. He’d told me to bring a bottle of hairspray with my. The bully was 13-years-old at the time and I believe that he had carefully planned what he was going to do and hurting me had been his intention.

What he did next was hold me against the wall and then lit the flame on a lighter. He then sprayed hairspray toward the flame which made a huge torch.

I immediately ran out of the garage in flames and gasping for air. Luckily, my sister was on the porch listening to music. She was able to alert my older sibling and I soon fell to the ground which smothered the flames. I was sent to Shriner’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and received treatment there.
