My name is Robert Smith and I myself am a burn survivor. On the 4th of October of last year, I was driving a car on the M1 heading to the Hunter Valley and it caught fire under the driver¹s seat due to an electrical fault. I was trapped in the car but luckily got dragged out by my brother. I spent 3 months in the hospital and have had 6 skin graft operations (I sustained 3rd-degree burns from my ankles to the top of my thighs and my hands). I have set a goal for myself and will be entering Tough Mudder (an endurance course) this coming November. Thank you for the other shared stories which have helped me deal with this time of my life and I hope that my tale will help provide some support to others and show them that life is worth living.
